Garrett and Briana at The NP Event Space | PUBLISHED in MN Bride!!

WOOHOO times two!!  :)  Garrett and Briana's wedding was published in the real wedding section of the current issue of Minnesota Bride!  If you haven't seen the hard copy yet you should definitely head to the store and pick up a copy!  It is so beautiful.  ;)

Garrett is my cousin and fellow photographer in the lakes area.  Although I was not their full-day wedding photographer, I did photographer Briana's getting ready time as well as other details and a few portraits at the end of the day.

I also did all the flowers for the wedding (whew...the time I learned it is harder to be a florist than it looks...MUCH HARDER), but overall everything turned out great in the end.  Briana sparkled and chalk painted the centerpiece vases (LOVED them!) and so many other family members helped to make their dream wedding come true.

Enjoy the images below and stay tuned for their day-after session later this week.  Besides being photographed on the grounds of Northern Pacific Center we did some dreamy stuff inside the Powerplant...can't wait to share!

Billie & Jeremy | August Wedding

Billie & Jeremy | August Wedding

I LOVE Billie and Jeremy.  Seriously.  They are very individual, sweet and have so much love.  What I really love about our couples is that they are all different and so wonderful at the same time.

When I first met with Billie and Jeremy they talked of having a steampunk themed wedding.  It fit perfectly with the idea of minimal decor, accenting the building and property itself.  Although their final wedding decor turned into more of a mix of steampunk with classic Victorian and a slight industrial feel, it was still so perfect.  And of course, I can't NOT mention Billie's incredibly beautiful dress.  The lace, the ruffle, the flow...seriously gorgeous!

They had an overcast, massive chance of rain day.  We took a risk and it started to rain just as Billie's father walked her down the aisle.  Just as the ceremony was finishing, the skies opened up to the most beautiful sunshine that landed right on Billie and Jeremy.  It was meant to be.  If you look closely, you can see the wet ground amidst sun just after their first kiss!

They had lots of fun touches including an old-fashioned photobooth, signature drink station, pie dessert bar, vintage cameras and steampunk themed decor that was mostly made by the bride.  With delicious appetizers and dinner served by Prairie Bay and great company, it was a perfect day!

The Most Adorable Part of a Wedding

I had big plans during a recent shoot to get the perfect shot of three adorable children with the bride.  To say it didn't work out is quite the understatement...sometimes little kiddos are tired, nervous, cold or just not in the mood.  All of those might have played a part during this shoot, but it is all okay because we still ended with some of my favorite images.  There is a lot of pretty and also a heavy dose of real life here with small children.

The little adorable outfits are all from babygap with BEAUTIFUL flowers by Kate Kuepers of Bloom Designs.  Our goal was pretty with pops of color and seriously...the flowers Kate picked and the vintage yellow silk-backed velvet were a perfect combination.

Enjoy these cuties!!  (and take a sneak peek of the bride and her bridal bouquet at the end of this post!)  All photography by Aimee Jobe.

And a little preview of the bride and her bouquet...LOVE!

And this is Kate.  She is the one responsible for all these beautiful flowers in my posts lately and she is pretty much the most awesome florist ever.

We are proud to have her as our preferred florist at The NP Event Space.  Besides flowers, her vision with design and decor are equally amazing!

Our First Wedding!

Our First Wedding!

This weekend was the first ever wedding at The NP Event Space.  As we rushed to finish the build out in the building (we didn't get final okay to start until May 14...it has been a very busy three weeks to say the least!), Adam and Amanda's family helped complete some last minute work that really saved the day!  I couldn't be more thankful for how much they pitched in to make things perfect.  I CAN'T WAIT to see the images from their photographer...I am sure they will be amazing!  Until then, here are a few I was able to take during the day.  CONGRATS A + A!  You will forever be remembered as our first wedding at the (almost) end of the chaos!

Brainerd History Week

Brainerd History Week

Brainerd will be celebrating history week June 16 - 22.  I am so excited that Northern Pacific Center is hosting Tuesday, June 17 as Railroad Day.  The day will start with tours and a gathering honoring Brainerd pioneers' descendants as well as a classic car show held where the old roundhouse used to sit.  During the afternoon we will open up the newly renovated East end of the Blacksmith Shop where The NP Event Space is now located.  It will be open to the public from 3 pm to 5 pm for viewings of local history displays as well as for those who want to take a peek at the space itself.  The highlight of our evening will be a Gala complete with a sit down dinner by Prairie Bay, live music from Sonic Love Child, silent auctions featuring a few pieces of railroad history and more!  All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Crow Wing County Historical Society.  We can't wait to share our newly renovated space with the Brainerd Lakes and all of greater Minnesota!

The evening will be filled with great entertainment and other fun additions including a photo booth, sounding of the old "dinner bell" whistle and more!  Come in your favorite formal attire or style your outfit to the theme of Railroad Gold.  We can't wait to share an evening full of history while socializing and reminiscing about the railroad and what part it played in the history of Brainerd.
